It's the impact that counts

One of the basic components of the project from the onset was carrying out an evaluation of its benefits for the farmers and workers and the environment. A baseline survey to shed light on the situation of the cooperatives was therefore undertaken at the beginning of the project.

In the course of the project, more relevant data are being collected and monitored in order to measure the benefits for the farmers and other stakeholders. The results will be made available in various forms of media as an input into the discussion about sustainability of the mainstream cocoa sector. This is intended to promote sustainable agricultural practices as a beneficial tool for the people working on cocoa farms and the environment they live in.
